Full Speed Ahead

With 2/3 of our grades having iPads, an increasing number of students and teachers are going digital and paperless every day. The rapid progress is quite exciting, and here are a few tips to help keep things running smoothly:

  • Update your iPad on a regular basis. So many problems which people are experiencing can be fixed with a simple update. Using an outdated operating system causes some apps to fail, and others to stop communicating with one another. This makes it harder to upload and save documents, etc. So, when you see that little red circle hovering in the corner of your ‘Settings’ app, don’t wait and perform the update as soon as you can!

  • After much work, the Apple Classroom app should now be up and running for everyone. Your classes should automatically appear, and you should not be able to create classes of your own. If that hasn’t happened, please e-mail Brian Messinger.

  • Speaking of the Apple Classroom app, if you have certain students whose names appear in your class, but you cannot view or airdrop their iPads, please make sure they are on the ‘Faculty’ network and have bluetooth enabled. If they still don’t appear, please e-mail those student names to Brian Messinger.

  • The televisions in your classroom are intended to be in living rooms, and are not specially designed for school use. The screens are not thick glass, and you should never, ever draw on them with a marker or anything else. This destroys the screens and voids the warranty. It is best to not even touch the screens.

Thank you very much!

Brian
